The Sean Double U Sneaker was developed in collaboration with Sean Witherspoon and Zellerfeld, marking Sean’s first venture into fully 3D-printed footwear. Inspired by the proportions and attitude of classic skate sneakers, the project explored how a familiar footwear language could be translated into Zellerfeld’s additive manufacturing platform.

Working from the initial design direction, the sneaker was developed through multiple rounds of 3D modeling and refinement in close collaboration with the Zellerfeld design team. The process required balancing the original aesthetic with Zellerfeld’s technical requirements, including geometry, structure, wall thickness, printability, and other manufacturing parameters necessary to bring the design into production.

The final model represents a collaboration between cultural influence and emerging footwear technology, maintaining the character of a skate-inspired sneaker while embracing the possibilities of digitally manufactured footwear. The project also provided an opportunity to bridge creative design development with the technical demands of a new manufacturing process.
